Sam Roland Morin Sr.
(December 13, 1927 - May 31, 2012)
Sam Morin was an entrepreneur establishing SRM Mfg., in Aircraft Defense Contract work since 1968 as well as Instep Fashions and a Contractor Homebuilder. Born, raised and married in San Antonio, Texas. Shortly after marriage, Sam and Mary moved to Lytle, Texas in 1957 and then to Fredericksburg in 1976. In Sam's early years he served our country in the Air Force, raised 7 children and was a servant to St. Mary's in Somerset, St. Andrew's in Lytle, and St. Mary's in Fredericksburg, Tx.
With his hard work ethics and family values, he built a foundation that will influence his children for generations to come. His legacy of integrity, honor, respect and love for his children and grandchildren will continue to be an inspiration.
We will always remember how dad cherished his family vacation times. His favorite destinations were the Western States, Colorado being his favorite. We loved camping, even if it meant all of us sleeping in the car. Our dare devil jeep rides were exhilarating and afterwards we would head to the hot spring to calm our nerves. Dad never passed up the opportunity to hunt for arrowheads, even though he always told us to walk with our heads up, play dominoes, cards, and loved share his life experiences while sitting around a campfire.
Mr. Morin is survived by his wife Mary Morin, of Fredericksburg, seven children: Sam Morin Jr. and wife Donna, Tim Morin and wife Carol of Boerne, Jeffery Morin and wife Vicki, Mark Morin and wife Ana, Luke Morin, Mary Eckert and husband Brian of Fredericksburg, Catherine Rippenhagen and husband Clay of Austin. A brother Charlie Morin and wife Diane of San Antonio, 15 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 2 sisters-in-law Velia Morin and Vickie Morin both of San Antonio. Mr. Morin was the founder and owner of SRM machine shop in Lytle and Fredericksburg.

Visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at Beckmann Funeral Home. On Tuesday, Mr. Morin will lie in state at Beckmann Funeral Home from 7 a.m. till 12:30 p.m.
