Marvin Grobe

Marvin A Grobe was called away to be with the Lord on April 26, 2012 at the ageof 87. He was born in Gold Texas on April 25, 1925 to August and Emma Grobe. After leaving high school he entered the Army during World War Two. He served in combat in the Asiatic Pacific Theater with the 82nd Chemical Mortar Bn. from FEB. to Nov. 1945. During this time he received two battle stars and a Bronze Star. After being honorably discharge in 1947 he returned to Fredericksburg where he met Evelyn Pehl. They were married on June 28, 1952. Marvin worked as a home builder and cabinet maker for 45 years before retiring. Marvin had a great love for music and played in a band during this period. Marvin was an avid hunter and fisherman for many years and loved the outdoors. He will be missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents August and Emma Grobe, wife of 45 years, Evelyn, brothers Eddie Grobe, Alfred Grobe, and Wesley Grobe and sisters Meta Mohr and Elsie McDougall.

He is survived by brothers: Clayton Grobe and Clemens Grobe and sisters: Edna Metzger and Vera Brookover and numerous nephews and nieces He is also survived by his brother and sister in-laws Hubert and Jeanette Klein of Stonewall and Edgar and Claire Mae Schneider of Fredericksburg.

Funeral Service will be Monday April 30, 2012 at 1:00p.m. in the Chapel of Beckmann Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will follow at Stonewall Community Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday Morning from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Beckmann funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Marvin Grobe.
